THE DOLLI at Acropolis Named Athens’ Best City Hotel

Just three and a half years after opening its doors, THE DOLLI at Acropolis has established itself as far more than a luxury hotel. It has become one of Athens’ defining hospitality landmarks. In the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026, the Grecotel-owned property earned the title of No. 1 City Hotel in Athens, receiving an outstanding 98/100 rating while also securing a place among the 100 Best Hotels in the World.

A Historic Landmark Reimagined

Housed in the iconic Kallimasiotis Mansion, a listed neoclassical building designed in 1925 by architect Andreas Kriezis, THE DOLLI is the result of a meticulous seven-year restoration project. Under the vision of Mari Daskalantonaki, CEO of Grecotel Group, the historic property has been transformed into a sophisticated urban retreat that seamlessly blends architectural heritage with contemporary luxury.

“Our goal was to create a ‘Hotel to Live’—a destination with soul, character, and authentic hospitality that allows guests to connect with Athens in a meaningful and personal way,” said Daskalantonaki.

Redefining Luxury in Athens

Rather than following the conventions of traditional luxury hospitality, THE DOLLI has built its identity around individuality and timeless elegance. Every suite has its own distinctive design, creating a highly personalized guest experience.

One of the hotel’s most celebrated features is its spectacular rooftop infinity pool, offering uninterrupted views of the Parthenon and the Acropolis—an image that has quickly become one of Athens’ most recognizable luxury experiences. Equally impressive is DOLLI·S Rooftop Restaurant, where refined Mediterranean cuisine is served against one of the city’s most iconic historical backdrops.

An Award-Winning Luxury Destination

The latest recognition from Travel + Leisure adds to an already impressive list of international accolades.

THE DOLLI is the first and only property in Greece to receive the prestigious Prix Versailles award in the category of The Most Beautiful Hotels in the World. It has also been awarded Two MICHELIN Keys in the inaugural MICHELIN Key Guide for Hotels 2025, was included in Tatler’s 101 Best Hotels in the World 2025, and is currently nominated for the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2026 while also being a finalist for the Virtuoso Best Brand Award.

A New Benchmark for Greek Luxury Hospitality

THE DOLLI at Acropolis represents a new generation of Greek luxury hospitality—one that combines exceptional design, authentic storytelling, world-class service, and an unrivalled sense of place.

Its growing collection of international awards demonstrates that Greek luxury brands can compete at the highest level of global hospitality, standing alongside the world’s leading hotel names without relying on an international hotel chain.

For travelers seeking an unforgettable stay in the heart of Athens, THE DOLLI has firmly established itself as one of the city’s—and the world’s—most exceptional luxury destinations.
