The exhibition «Wolf Suschitzky. Voyage in Greece in the 60’s” which presents works of major British photographer Wolf Suschitzky, hosted at the Benaki Museum (Gallery N building. Hadjikyriakos – Ghika) from April 24, 2015 until June 27, 2015.
The photographer Wolf Suschitzky came in Greece in 1960 and captured with his lens the Greek space, occupations and traditions that surround him, just before the inevitable alteration of Greece.
This exhibition includes 48 original black and white photographs, printed all by himself. Also three, belonging to the photographic archive of Gikas Gallery, gift from Suschitzky to N. Ch. Gikas. The others photographs from the personal collection of the photographer and presented for the first time in Greece.
The photographs of Skiathos predominate in the exhibition. They depict locals, known and unknown, rural scenes, and celebrations accompanying weddings and christenings. Suschitzky’s acquaintance with painter John Craxton will subsequently take him to Hydra, in N. Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas’ mansion, where he will photograph both artists. The exhibition is completed by sceneries of the Acropolis that Suschitzky reflects in admiration, exploiting the intense light and the interesting shadings it creates.
The short-story film Mikhalis, directed by John Ingram and featuring original music composed by Mikis Theodorakis, will be screened as part of the exhibition. This British Petroleum oil company production was filmed in Skiathos, thus giving Suschitzky the opportunity to travel there and depict the Greek reality through the filter of his personal glance.

It would be good if you mention which of these photos are not from Suschitzky.
For instance, for the last one I know it is from Magnum member, Constantine Manos (1964.).
That would be great to have more precise info on individual photos BUT they will never bother we are fortunate to have these photos published
