Η Freebird Airlines Europe ενισχύει τη σύνδεση Κολωνίας–Βόννης με τα ελληνικά νησιά

Freebird Airlines Europe, based in Malta, is significantly expanding its route network from Cologne Bonn Airport to meet the consistently high demand from German travelers for Greek islands. Starting July 11, the airline will launch direct flights to three highly popular destinations: Kos, Crete, and Rhodes.

Strategic Expansion in the German Market

The addition of these new routes is a calculated move, confirming Greece’s enduring strength as a premier destination for the German travel market. This expansion follows the recent launch of flights from Cologne to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, underscoring the airline’s strategy to broaden its presence in Germany.

Operational Readiness and Fleet Enhancement

To meet the increased demands of the summer season, Freebird Airlines Europe has stationed an Airbus A320 at its Cologne Bonn base, enhancing its operational flexibility. Holding a European Air Operator Certificate (AOC)—having been established in 2019 and based in Malta—the company is able to operate flights seamlessly within the European Union.

Freebird Airlines Europe is a subsidiary of the Turkish carrier Freebird Airlines. The wider group operates a total of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft and maintains a strong presence in the Turkish market, with its sister company operating daily flights from Cologne to Antalya.

The company’s decision to further invest in the Greek islands confirms the continued confidence that aviation groups place in Greek tourism. In a highly competitive environment, Crete, Rhodes, and Kos remain top choices for organized tourism, maintaining high demand and serving as key pillars for routes connecting Germany to the Mediterranean.
