Hilton’s Return to Greece: A New Era of Luxury Hospitality in Crete and Athens

Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa

If you’re dreaming of your next luxury getaway, Hilton’s return to the Greek market marks a new era for high-end tourism. With a strategic expansion that places special emphasis on Crete and Athens, the global hospitality giant is redefining the accommodation experience through impressive projects that combine design, innovation, and absolute comfort.

In Crete, Hilton is making a dynamic “landing” with three new hotel projects expected to upgrade the island’s tourism product as a whole.

In Chania, the new Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa will open its doors in early June in the heart of the Old Town. The seven-story resort redefines the concept of luxury, as each of its 85 rooms features a private pool—a pioneering global concept for Hilton. With state-of-the-art wellness facilities and high-end culinary experiences, it aspires to become a landmark for summer in Greece.

In Georgioupoli, an exclusive all-inclusive resort of around 140 rooms is being developed, designed for family holidays with an emphasis on comfort and relaxation. At the same time, in Episkopi Rethymno, a luxury resort of 200 rooms and bungalows is under development, ideal for those seeking privacy, tranquility, and connection with nature in a more peaceful, aesthetically refined setting.

In Athens, the long-awaited return of the historic Hilton is now officially taking shape through the new Conrad Athens The Ilisian. The iconic building on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, 63 years after its inauguration, is being fully reborn and transformed into a modern urban resort that blends history with contemporary luxury.

Conrad Athens The Ilisian

The new The Ilisian pays tribute to the Ilisos River and the historical identity of the area, offering a high-level hospitality experience in the heart of the capital. It features 278 rooms and suites with views of the Acropolis, the largest outdoor swimming pool in central Athens, a 770-meter rooftop running track, a pickleball court, and an extensive 2,000 sq.m. wellness area.

Onuki-Modern Japanese Dining

At the same time, gastronomy is elevated into a destination experience, with nine bars and restaurants, including the renewed Grande Brasserie Byzantino and the cosmopolitan sushi spot Onuki.

Whether it’s private pools in Chania or views of the Acropolis from an urban resort in the heart of Athens, the new era of Greek hospitality is already taking shape, bolder, more luxurious, and more experiential than ever.
